God has been speaking to our hearts abut distractions within the Body of Christ. These distractions keep us from the primary purpose of God’s will for all the members of the Body and that is making new disciples in Christ and fellowship with Him. I think we can all agree that the message that Christ I the only way to salvation and the only way to heaven is accepted by all evangelicals (I hope). But other “messages” are used to divided us and keep us from our ministry of reconciliation.

The enemy has always used distractions as a way to keep Believers from accomplishing their true assignments in Christ.  We must become aware of this attack from the enemy and guard our hearts against such distractions whatever they may be.

The distractions take various forms but always have the same purpose; to take us away from our purpose in Christ – to make disciples.

Our hearts are broken as we see ministers and ministries spend countless hours defending positions and debating issues that are not pertinent to the Gospel message. I hesitate to name such issues because debates will begin to rage about each issue as individuals line up on one side or the other to declare their allegiance. I thought our allegiance was to Christ as the Head of the Body of Christ!

The Apostle Paul said that we were not ignorant of the devil’s schemes ( II Cor. 2:11) yet we see Believers worldwide falling for those same schemes daily resulting in the failure of delivering the message of the Gospel of peace to a world without peace and without hope.

Let our hearts be ruled by the Holy Spirit and preach the message of Christ in love to a world desperate for real love. Let us spread the Word of God abroad revealing God’s salvation message to a lost and dying world. Let us show the world what loving Christ is all about – without useless debates trying to prove idiomatic points that have nothing to do with God’s love for sinners and His way of escape through the Cross of Calvary.

If this message offends you I do not apologize because you are probably one of those working hard to defend a debate point rather than rescue a lost soul from the clutches of darkness. But I do not offend you without reason; for my message to you is to return to your first love (Christ) and your first obligation (to make disciples in all the earth).

The person offended first was me as I sought to prove certain theological points until the Holy Spirit caught me and slew me by His great love to spend time making disciples of and for the Kingdom of God rather than prove my theological talking points. I thank God for His mercy and grace.

Let us not fall into “camps” of disagreement that only leads to distractions taking us away from God’s call to reconciliation for the world. Let us rather come together in unity of faith in order to win the lost at any cost. Let us refuse distractions and become attracted to the beauty of Christ’s message of salvation and deliverance from sin.

Now, more than ever it is time to walk the talk. The world needs to see that Christians are truly followers of Christ by our actions and not by the fish on our cars, or by the T shirt or bracelets that we're wearing.

We are not of this world but we have to live here in order to co-labor with God to be a light and to fulfill the Great Commission.
John 15:19, Romans 12:2

Remember this, while we live in time (Chronos), God is out side of time. He knows the beginning from the end.
Isaiah 46:10

Therefor we will have hard things that we have to go through in this life, some tougher than others. But we have already overcome through Christ Jesus! John 16:33

Take home:
  • Operate from a place of Victory
  • Know who you are in Christ
  • Be joyful
  • Be a light
  • No complaining, even when you have a reason too
  • Love people

Philippians 2:12-17
New King James Version (NKJV)
Light Bearers
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

17 Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

Habakkuk 3:17-18
New King James Version (NKJV)
A Hymn of Faith

17 Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls--
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Philippians 4:11-13
New King James Version (NKJV)
11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me.
It's very fresh to see people in the body of Christ being relevant , funny and true all at the same time. Listen to the power of his testimony

Amy and I were just pondering this subject matter and really felt that we were to share this mesage. So, sit back - read - ponder - and enjoy!

Jesus is the Light of the world. He is not just A Light –  He is THE LIGHT.

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me
will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life
John 8:12 (ESV)
There is no other. No one else can give you the light you   need to see your way through in this dark world. No one else can provide the light for your pathway to be sure you’re moving in the right direction. No one  else can offer you salvation from your sin-sick life; for there is no other  Name under Heaven given among men whereby we MUST be saved. All darkness must  flee in His Presence! It doesn’t matter if that darkness is sickness, severed relationships, finances, fear, uncertainty; all disappear in the Light of His Presence!

In him was life, and that life was the light of men
John 1:4 (NIV)

There is no life outside the light of Christ!  So, if you want life to flow through your very veins and to pump life into your  very heart –you must recognize that Jesus is the only life force. He alone can bring life and light into your circumstances.

Andre Crouch wrote a song many years ago that is just as true today as the day it was penned;

Jesus is the answer for the world today
Above him there's no other Jesus is the way
Jesus is  the answer for the world today
Above him there's no other Jesus is the way

If you have some questions in the corners of your mind
And traces of discouragement and peace you cannot find
Reflections of the old past, they seem to face you everyday
There's one thing I know for sure that Jesus is the way

Jesus is the answer for the world today
Above him there's no other Jesus is the way
Jesus is  the answer for the world today
Above him there's no other Jesus is the way

I know you got  mountains that you think you cannot climb
I know that your skies have been  dark, you think the sun won't shine
In case you don't know I'm here to  tell you that the word of God is true
And everything that he promised I tell you he would do it for you

Jesus is the answer for the world  today
Above him there's no other Jesus is the way
Jesus is the answer for the world today
Above him there's no other Jesus is the way

Great devotion from Joseph Prince today!

Release The Anointing Into Your Situation

Leviticus 2:1
‘When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it.

The grain offering in the Old Testament speaks of Jesus’ sacrifice, and oil in the Bible speaks of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. So the grain offering of fine flour, which had oil poured on it, speaks of Jesus’ humanity being anointed by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is fully God. But when He came to earth, He literally emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant. (Philippians 2:7) That is why He needed to be anointed of the Holy Spirit before He could begin His ministry. (John 1:33) Though fully God, He did things by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was anointed to bring the blessings of God into the lives of people. He first spoke of His anointing when He was preaching in His hometown — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor…” (Luke 4:18)

Today, Jesus’ anointing has come upon you. (1 John 2:20) The Bible says that “the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you”. (1 John 2:27) But how is this anointing in you released?

My friend, it is when you call upon Jesus’ name. In Song of Solomon 1:3, the virgins, representing the church, love His name, which is like ointment poured forth when spoken. When they called upon His Name, His fragrance was released and the anointing was poured forth.

So when you call upon the name of Jesus, you are releasing His anointing. Call upon His name when you are feeling down and His anointing will lift your spirit up. If you are feeling dry and empty, just say, “Jesus, Jesus.” Before you know it, a river of refreshing will gush forth as His anointing flows. Call upon His name when you need a breakthrough and His anointing will release it to you.

Romans 10:13 says that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. So call on Jesus’ name and watch His anointing release your deliverance, healing, protection and prosperity, and make you whole!

Amy and I were discussing the issue of preparation for God’s work in our lives. He often gives His people dreams and ideas of what He has planned for their future. Sometimes we have a dream – sometimes a vision – sometimes a pulsing desire; but always it is God who births the vision for us. Then what?

For too many it means launching out into the sea – but without the ship! We get so excited about God’s plan for us that we forget to make the needed preparations. How many times have we seen young people leave Bible College to enter ministry before they were properly trained? How many people have launched ministries before they were prepared for the work? How many people have become discouraged and walked away from God’s plan because they did not make provision for the work?

When God puts it upon our hearts to complete a task for Him it does not automatically follow that we are ready for that task. We still need His training and anointing to accomplish His will. So, we need to take the time to prepare ourselves properly for the assignment. By prayer, fasting, Bible study and praise we will develop the skills and attitude needed for God’s work. Remember, God is infinitely patient and will take all the time He needs to get us ready to accomplish His masterpiece in our lives.

It is important to realize that God often tells us well in advance of our mission so that we have time to prepare. And rest assured that He takes time in preparing us for the task at hand! He has plenty of time (even though we often are in a rush) for the fulfillment of a dream. When we jump out into the deep too soon we are destined for frustration and failure.

Don’t wait until you’re out at sea to discover you haven’t built the ship!

Last night we had a fantastic men's meeting. We discussed the Blood of Jesus and repentance for our sins. Most Christians have no problem with this piece. Jesus died on a cross and took ALL of mankind's sins upon Himself so we could be forever sanctified from sin.

But the piece that we rarely discuss or enter into is the cleansing of our soul. We need to do what the Bible tells us to do. Cleanse ourselves with the Word of God

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Psalm 145:5
I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.

Philippians 4:8
Meditate on These Things ] Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditateon these things.

Psalm 119:148
My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word
